Energy, Utility, and Regulatory Law
Our lawyers are among very few in British Columbia practicing energy, utility, and regulatory law from a progressive perspective. We have extensive experience representing the public at large, low-income consumers, and workers in regulated industries including hydro, natural gas, and telecommunications.
We work on issues related to utility resource planning, rates and rate design, corporate organization, service quality, health and safety, and infrastructure, all in the context of transition to a sustainable, more climate-friendly energy sector.
We specialize in coordinating legal strategies with broader political strategies. We have a successful track record building broad alliances among First Nations, environmental advocates, consumer groups, workers, and communities to advance a just agenda for the regulation of our public resources.
Please contact Jim Quail to discuss how we can work with your organization on energy policy and regulatory issues.
